Arrests at Critical Mass

35th STREET AND 6th AVENUE: My boyfriend, Adam Berenzweig, just got arrested while photographing someone else's arrest during the Critical Mass ride. Several people have been arrested at a major block in traffic. Updates soon.

Please let us know what happens. I hope he is released soon.

And tell him not to let this discourage him. This evening where the police were arresting many of the Critical Mass cyclists around 2nd and 10th I saw a police officer attack a bystander. Immediately about 15 other bystanders armed with cameras and camcorders surrounded them. Two other officers rushed in and pulled the first one away.

We need more people photographing police actions, not less, so I hope your boyfriend isn't intimidated.
